As reported by The Chronicle, Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign Tottenham winger Lucas Moura on a free transfer with Sevilla and Roma also interested.

The 30-year-old will leave the London-based club after five seasons, where he has made over 150 Premier League appearances and played a key role in their route to the Champions League final in 2019.

As the report states, there has been contact made between the club and Moura’s representatives but there is no concrete offer as of yet.

It is believed that Moura would be excited about teaming up with fellow countrymen Bruno Guimaraes and Joelintion, as well as being close to Kieran Trippier from his time at Spurs. The Chronicle add that his wage demands are unlikely to be excessive too, meaning he would fit within the current structure.

The Brazilian international’s versatility could be a big selling point for

who will not only be looking to add European experience to his squad but also quality in depth.

With Newcastle expected to be under tight constraints in the market – at least according to Howe – securing Moura for free could be a shrewd bit of business.
