Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly ready to begin negotiations to sell Djibril Sow to West Ham United for £17 million.

According to a report from Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt are now ready to sit down and talk with West Ham about Djibril Sow moving to the London Stadium in the summer transfer window for a bargain €20 million (£17 million) fee.

The 26-year-old Switzerland international is someone who West Ham have been tracking closely over the past few months.
Hammers boss David Moyes has a big task on his hands this summer, if he is to adequately replace Declan Rice.
And whilst Sow should not be viewed as a like-for-like replacement for the 24-year-old, he would be a very solid addition for West Ham nonetheless.

West Ham close in on Djibril Sow

Frankfurt are ready to begin negotiations with the Hammers about a £17 million deal that would see the 26-year-old midfielder move to the London Stadium, according to Bild.

Moyes was clearly impressed with the Frankfurt ace when we played them over two-legs in the Europa League semi-final last season.

The Swiss ace is an excellent player and would be a great option for West Ham next season. We all know how good he is – we witnessed it first hand during the Europa League semi-final clashes last season.

He has bagged for goals in 31 Bundesliga matches this season. During those outings, the 26-year-old has averaged 1.3 tackles and one interception per game. Sow has made 48.4 passes on average per match and has recorded a completion rate of 85.6% (Who Scored).
He really is a complete midfielder and offers so much in both the defensive and attacking thirds what with his tenacious tackling and keen eye for a killer pass.

£17 million for Djibril Sow would represent one of the bargains of the summer transfer window, and West Ham quite simply must get this one done.

Having said that, I would like to see Moyes sign another top-class central midfielder as well as Sow if Rice leaves – someone like Khephren Thuram or Seko Fofana would do nicely.
