Latest Coventry City news from Coventry Live brings you the latest on the Hatters’ skipper who collapsed in the first half

Tom Lockyer’s dad has posted a photo of his son celebrating Luton Town’s playoff win from his hospital bed after his worrying collapse against Coventry City this afternoon.

Lockyer fell to the ground in the eighth minute of the Championship showdown at Wembley as physios and medics from both clubs rushed to attend to him.

He was seen being given oxygen before he was taken to the medical room where he was joined by his parents.

Lockyer was conscious and then taken to hospital but the nature of his injury has yet to be confirmed.

But he was able to see the Hatters win their place in the Premier League via a 6-5 victory on penalties with his dad, Steve, posting an update on Twitter.

He wrote: “Tom’s Dad here. Tom is ok. Very happy but so sad he can’t be there with his team mates. ”

Lockyer’s condition was the first question to be asked after the game with Luton striker Carlton Morris revealing how it formed part of their half-time team talk.

Asked what was said in the dressing room at the break, Morris said: “Just do it for him. He’s been incredible all season for us. I don’t even know what happened yet. For whatever happened to happen was unbelievable really. It’s shellshock but the lads got behind it and that’s how big of a character Locks is. He was still here in spirit and this is all for him. ”
