Report: David Moyes sends cryptic message after long league season concludes

David Moyes has outlined his intentions after a long Premier League campaign finally ends with a European Final now ready to look forward to.

Our Hammers lost on the final day to Leicester City, in ultimately wasn’t an important fixture with a top flight status secured a couple of weeks ago to enable West Ham to relax and prioritise our Europa Conference League venture.

The loss however saw the hosts Leicester relegated to the Championship, and Moyes stated that he has nothing but sympathy for the Foxes and Dean Smith as our Hammers could well have been in that situation had it not been for a few last period of the season performances to get us over the line.

“We have come from 2-0 down against Arsenal at home to get a point, we have beaten Manchester United at home, we have picked up some important wins like we did at Bournemouth and that meant we were not in that position today,” said Moyes as reported by Football London.

“But I never like seeing another manager or another club go through this, and how devastating it is.”

The boss also gave a special mention to Declan Rice, with the match possibly being his last in the Premier League for West Ha. Moyes stated that the Irons captain can now look to emulate the greats of our club and lift a major trophy in just 9 days time.

“I thought he played great,” added the manager. “It was another swashbuckling performance from him at times today. I am really pleased how well he has played for us over the season, he has been exceptional and a credit to himself.

“And now he has the big moment to see if he can lift a trophy for West Ham and he needs to try and get ready to see if he can help us do that.”
