Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news from NottinghamshireLive as Atalanta defender Merih Demiral, a reported target for the Reds, is set to move on this summer

Reported Nottingham Forest target Merih Demiral is “back up for sale” in the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old is said to have turned down a move to Forest back in the winter market this year, but the Reds may now have a second bite at the cherry to sign their man.

Demiral, who joined Atalanta last year after two-and-a-half seasons with Juventus, played 28 games in Serie A last season and has long attracted attention from clubs across Europe in the transfer market.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Turkish centre-back “will leave Atalanta” this summer because he is not in the plans of the manager. That could open the door for Forest if head coach Steve Cooper feels he needs another centre-back ahead of next season.

They say Demiral “refused an offer” from Forest in January, which could have been for a number of reasons. Forest securing their Premier League status, along with having a summer to sort his personal circumstances, could be two major factors that convince Demiral to change his mind.

Circumstances have also changed for Forest, though, with the arrival of Felipe from Atletico Madrid bolstering the club’s defensive ranks. No defenders will leave on a free transfer this summer, and none are returning to a parent club. That could mean Forest no longer see Demiral as a target, unless a player is sold.

Nottingham Forest Show Interest In 22-year-old Winger

Nottingham Forest have an interest in signing Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, according to The Athletic.

The winger spent the just-concluded season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen in Germany and will return to Chelsea over the summer.

Chelsea are looking at a major clear out of players in the next transfer window in order to trim down their squad and balance their FFP obligations.

Hudson-Odoi is one of the players Chelsea could want to move on in the summer as part of their plans.

And Nottingham Forest are among the clubs who are interested in signing him in the next transfer window.

The Midlands club spent big last summer after getting promoted and their strategy paid off after they survived in the Premier League.

Steve Cooper is looking for key additions and Forest are looking to bring in players with Premier League experience.

Hudson-Odoi fits that profile and the club are considering taking him to the City Ground this summer.

The winger also has the experience of working under Cooper when the latter was in charge of England Under-17s.
