Newcastle United Face Tough Competition For This Gifted Starlet: One For The Future?

In a recent report, Tutto Udinese mentioned that Newcastle United are facing tough competition for Sao Paulo starlet Lucas Beraldo. It has been stated that the Magpies will have to rival Udinese and Brighton and Hove Albion in the race to land the Brazilian whizkid

Beraldo’s Rapid Rise In Brazilian Football

Beraldo has come through the youth ranks of Sao Paolo and has done well to establish himself as an important member of their first XI. The 19-year-old has already made 28 senior appearances for the Brazilian club so far, scoring one goal in the process across various competitions.

The Brazilian prospect has caught the eye with his performances in the Brazilian Serie A. However, he has still got a lot of room for improvement in his game.

Beraldo’s current deal at Sao Paulo will run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, it won’t be easy for the Magpies to win the race for his services during this summer transfer window.

Newcastle United Face Tough Competition For Beraldo: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Beraldo doesn’t shy away from making a tackle and can read the danger well to secure possession back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and can use his strong 1.86m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels. However, the Brazilian defensive ace is still quite raw and would need time before he can prove his worth at the highest level.

Someone with Beraldo’s skillset and potential would no doubt be an excellent acquisition for Newcastle United this summer. At 19, he has already begun to prove his worth as a reliable presence on the defensive third of the pitch.

Beraldo is a prospect to watch out for in the future as long as he continues to develop his all-around game in the coming seasons. He will add more depth to Eddie Howe‘s match-day squad and help the Tyneside club challenge for some major honours over the next decade.

However, Howe will have to be patient with Beraldo’s progress if he wants to unlock the best out of him at St. James’ Park.
