Club trying to sign Brentford man for no transfer fee – Player ‘very willing’ to see transfer go through

Beşiktaş are trying to sign Brentford forward Halil Dervişoğlu on a free transfer this summer, by adding in a 50% future purchase clause in the deal.

That’s according to CNN Turk, who explain that Dervişoğlu is ‘very willing’ to make the move to Turkey if a deal can be struck.

They report that Beşiktaş are continuing their efforts to sign the player from Brentford, with manager Şenol Güneş and his team keen to add him to their squad for next season.

The Super Lig side don’t want to pay for him, though, and instead want Brentford to ‘give him free of charge’.

They have presented an ‘interesting offer’ to the Bees to sign the player on a free transfer but include a 50% share of a possible sale in future.

Their hope is that Brentford will sanction such a deal as Dervişoğlu is currently in the final year of his deal and they risk losing him on a free next year anyway.

So far, they have not responded to Beşiktaş’ proposal but negotiations continue over a possible transfer, nonetheless. The player has made it clear that he would be ‘very willing’ to see the switch completed.

If a deal cannot be struck, it’s believed Beşiktaş will simply offer the €1.5m that Brentford are looking for and use his desire to make the switch as a ‘trump card’ in any negotiations.

If they can get him on more favourable terms, though, they certainly will, and have made a proposal to Brentford on that front.
