Wolves and Burnley have ‘made offers’ to free agent – Player has asked for €2m/year wages from another club

Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both working to sign Nathan Redmond this summer, according to reports from Turkey.

The winger’s contract with Besiktas is expiring at the end of the month, and despite the club’s wish to keep him, he’s free to negotiate his future.

Outlet Hurriyet today features a story with a few details of the talks where it’s said the Turkish club offered him a salary worth €1.5m per year, but his agent, Simon Bayliff, said they must increase the bid to fight Burnley and Wolves for the signing, who have themselves ‘made offers’.

“We do not ask you for signing on fee, but we expect you to increase the fee to €2m,” Bayliff is quoted saying.

Redmond, who played in England for Birmingham, Norwich and Southampton, joined Besiktas for free in the summer of 2022. In his first year at the club, he had six goals and six assists in 28 appearances.

The club are keen on keeping him, but the chance to return to the Premier League could now be appealing for the 29-year-old.
