Just in: Millwall have bid for midfielder knocked back
The Lions have other main priorities – including full-back and in attack
MILLWALL have had a bid for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Lewis Travis turned down.
Reports in Lancashire have said it was a six-figure offer.
Midfielder Travis, 25, has made 202 appearances for Rovers, including against Millwall on the final day of last season.
Travis played 48 times last season and scored twice. He has most often played as a defensive midfielder but was moved into a more advanced role at times last season.
Travis, who came through the youth system at Rovers, reportedly has three years left on his contract.
The Lions want to add more attackers to their squad. Millwall have already signed Kevin Nisbet, but Mason Bennett was released this summer and Oliver Burke went back to Werder Bremen after his loan. Tyler Burey is set to leave in this transfer window.
Millwall also need more depth in the full-back positions. At the moment, Danny McNamara and Murray Wallace are the only full-backs in the squad. Last season, manager Gary Rowett had to play midfielder Callum Styles at left-back due to injuries and a lack of depth.
