Blackburn Rovers’ new striker Niall Ennis is keen to catch the eye after starting pre-season with his new teammates this week

New Blackburn Rovers signing Niall Ennis is desperate to make an early impression on Jon Dahl Tomasson.

Ennis has joined his Rovers teammates at Brockhall for the first time this week. The players returned for pre-season testing on Tuesday before taking to the training pitches on Wednesday.

After completing the free transfer move early in the summer, Ennis is ready to hit the ground running at his new club. He’s held talks with Tomasson and wants to make an immediate impact.

“I have spoken to him, he is very clear with his communication,” Ennis told RoversTV. “From what I have seen, he says it how it is and what he wants to get across.

“I like that, I want to know what someone thinks rather than beating around the bush. He is clear with his communication.

“Getting the deal done early, I have been here from day one. I have got that chance to see tactically what he wants from me and have as much time with my teammates and the coaching staff.

“That gives me time to see what he wants from me and for me to see how I can improve. I am happy to be here from day one.

“You don’t want to come across as lethargic, I want to come here and show that I am buying into what the club wants to do. I am buying into what the staff want from me.

“From what I’ve seen so far, the lads have helped me settle in. That is what you want at the start.”
