Blackburn Rovers will re-assess their options in the transfer market after a busy start to the summer window.

Gregg Broughton has overseen the arrival of three new faces, with Niall Ennis, Sondre Tronstad and Arnor Sigurdsson all bolstering the group. Rovers have acted quickly and decisively to reinforce the squad and maximise the free agent market.

However, Lancs Live understands no further deals are imminent, although talks with potential recruits are ongoing. Discussions are continuing in the background but Rovers will take stock before adding to the squad.

As is well documented, the club must generate their own transfer funds this summer. The wage bill has remained the same as the previous two years, though, and the exits of Bradley Dack, Daniel Ayala and Ben Brereton Diaz have given further room for manoeuvre.

Rovers are yet to dip into the loan market and any Premier League loans are likely to follow later in the window as top-flight clubs return for pre-season. Lancs Live reported on Monday that Rovers are in the race for Manchester City midfielder Kian Breckin.

Potential exits could dictate what Rovers do next in the transfer market. A bid was knocked back for Lewis Travis from Millwall, believed to be in the region of £800,000, and other players such as Thomas Kaminski have been linked away.

It’s understood that Rovers are yet to receive a formal proposal for Adam Wharton. The club do not want to sell the talented midfielder, who signed a five-year contract last year. Everton and Newcastle United were linked once again with an offer over the weekend.

David Raya’s move to Tottenham Hotspur is dead in the water after they signed Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli. Any sale by Brentford would bank Rovers in the region of £4million and would be a major boost to their transfer ambitions.

A deal for left-back George Cox is not imminent. The 25-year-old has been linked with Rovers after leaving Fortuna Sittard on a free transfer.
